About the Characters

These whimsical animal figures are created to bring a smile to your face. They are created with high-quality natural fabrics – wool and wool felt, silks, natural cottons, pastel pigments, glass, and clay. Metal embellishments are also added to complete the look desired. Most added elements — hats, glasses, etc. — are hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind.

Each figure is “bookcase sized”, ranging in height from 12 inches to 15 inches. The heads of most figures are moveable. Figures labeled as “large” will have the dimensions indicated.

About Me and the Process

After working with textiles for many decades, I’ve finally landed on an expression of myself that brings joy to others. I love making whimsical 3D soft sculptures and more realistic 2D art quilts. Although I work on several projects at a time, I’ll focus for many hours on one piece until it is ‘just right’.

The methods I use include sewing, felting, beading, sculpting, tinting and coloring, and any other method that will help to bring the character to life. Each creation is a new adventure, and I am constantly learning new skills.
